Elevation profile
The story
The Keutenberg is often called the steepest road in the Netherlands, and nobody in South Limburg will argue. From the hamlet of Engwegen near Schin op Geul, the road throws you straight into a bend that hits 22 percent on the inside. Then come a few hundred metres above fifteen percent, climbing out of the Geul valley, before the false flat to Berghof finally lets you breathe. It has featured in the Limburg spring classic since 1972. Short, mean and unforgettable. A poster for every Limburg climber – and for anyone who once ended up walking beside their bike here.
