The route in this map

The facts under the map are those of Passo Giau. The route is also sold as its own poster.
See the Passo Giau posterThe story
Lay of the Land: the whole of Passo Giau in one drawing, streets, water, woods and hills included, with the route drawn into the map. Atlas prints the whole map tone on tone in pink, with the streets and the route in paper white. From Selva di Cadore, the Passo Giau asks for ten kilometres of steady, honest work. There is hardly a flat metre: a little over nine percent on average, first through the woods, then up 29 hairpins and through three avalanche tunnels towards the open pastures. Above the treeline the view explodes into bare rock towers and a sweeping Dolomite panorama. At 2236 metres the mountain hut on the pass marks the top, with a view you will be too breathless to photograph. Three times it was the highest point of a grand tour: in 1973, 2011 and 2021. For reliving a Dolomite summer every single day.
