The story
In the flat green heart of Drenthe, Assen is a fast, flowing ribbon made above all for two wheels. Motorcycles raced on the region's public roads long before the permanent circuit opened in 1955, and fans still call it a cathedral of the sport. Its long, cambered curves reward smooth lines and courage, from the tight Haarbocht to the lightning-fast left of Ramshoek. The GT-chicane just before the line has settled many last-lap duels. Look up, and summer's screaming engines come rushing back.
