The story

Tucked into the dunes on the North Sea coast, Zandvoort is a rollercoaster of sand, wind and banking. Since 1948 the lap has twisted through the hills just behind the beach. You stand on the brakes for the Tarzanbocht, feel the car go light over the Hunserug, then sweep flat out through the Scheivlak. The finale is pure theatre: the steeply banked Arie Luyendykbocht slings everyone onto the main straight. Hang it where you can almost smell the sea breeze and hear the orange crowd roar.
