The story

Silverstone was born on a wartime airfield in the Northamptonshire countryside. In 1948 its old runways became a racetrack, and two years later it hosted the very first championship Grand Prix of the modern era. The lap is fast, open and often windy, built on rhythm rather than braking. The highlight is the Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel sequence, a high-speed snake that leaves no room for hesitation, before Stowe and Club close the lap. In a study, it's a daily reminder of where it all began.
