    The story

Racing in Brno began in 1930, when the first competitors roared along public roads through villages west of Moravia's largest city. Since 1987 the action has unfolded on a purpose-built track tucked into wooded hills just outside town. The lap is wide, fast and full of elevation change, with sweeping downhill bends and a lung-busting climb through the final sector. For decades, vast crowds filled its grassy banks for the motorcycle Grand Prix. A fitting reminder, on any wall, that the best moments often come uphill.
