Elevation profile
The story
The Col de la Loze is the newest legend in the Alps, and a strange one. From Brides-les-Bains you first climb the main road through Les Allues to Méribel, a solid effort in itself. Beyond the altiport the real test begins: the final seven kilometres run on a narrow road reserved for bikes, opened in 2019. There is no rhythm to be found up there. Easier stretches alternate with walls of more than twenty per cent, and the thin air does you no favours. In 2020 this was the highest point of the biggest race in cycling. Made for the rider who wants to feel every metre.
