The story

Set in the rolling countryside of north-west Leicestershire, Donington is a true survivor. It opened in 1931, heard pre-war Grand Prix cars thunder through its parkland, served as a military depot in the war and roared back to life in 1977. The lap is pure joy: a swooping plunge from Redgate through fast curves to the Old Hairpin, a climb back to Coppice, then a straight to the tight Melbourne Hairpin, with airliners gliding low overhead. Made for anyone who loves British racing with deep roots.
