The story

Deep in the forest of the Rhine plain, Hockenheim has been pulling in crowds since 1932. Today's 4.574-kilometre lap, reshaped in 2002, sends you flat out along the curving Parabolika into a tight hairpin, then winds through a twisting finale into the Motodrom, a concrete bowl of grandstands where engine noise echoes from every side. Older fans still remember cars vanishing into the trees on long, lonely straights. Hang it in your hallway and every glance becomes a lap through the woods.
