Elevation profile
The story
The paddock sits in the middle of Heilbad Heiligenstadt, on the old bus station by the Holzweg. From the start at the edge of town, the course climbs 2.05 km through seven bends, at up to 10 %, along the western flank of the Iberg in the Eichsfeld. Cars first raced here in June 1976, but the East German authorities let the event die after 1977. In 1997 it came back as the first hill climb in the former East German states after reunification, and in 2003 and 2004 it even counted towards a European hill-climb challenge. For the fan who loves small races with big stories.
