The story
Winding around the castle village of Nürburg in the Eifel, the Nordschleife is a monster: almost 21 kilometres and 73 corners of forest, crests and sudden drops. Since 1927 it has been the ultimate test of nerve. Cars leap at Flugplatz, plunge into the compression of the Fuchsröhre and drop into the concrete bowl of the Karussell before the long blast down the Döttinger Höhe. Even today, anyone with a ticket can drive it themselves. Above a desk, it keeps the dream of the perfect lap alive.
