The story
A 37.73-mile lap of the island, entirely on everyday public roads. The Snaefell Mountain Course starts in the streets of Douglas, rushes between stone walls and through small villages to Ramsey, then climbs the A18 Mountain Road across open moorland on the flank of Snaefell, reaching 422 metres. Up there the Irish Sea spreads out around you before the road drops back to Douglas. The course has been used for the island's motorcycle races since 1911, and during the June races the Mountain Road runs one-way. More than two hundred corners, dozens of them with their own names. For the garage of every motorcycle fan.
