The route
The story
In 1948 a circuit was laid out in the dunes near Zandvoort, partly over roads built during the wartime occupation. The first version was just over four kilometres long and ran from the Tarzanbocht via Gerlach, Hugenholtz and the Hunserug to the Scheivlak, then in a wide loop through the back dunes past Tunnel Oost, Panorama, Pulleveld and Bos-uit. That rear section no longer exists. This map shows the original track with the old corner names, as it was in its golden years.
