The story

Tucked into the pine woods and heathland of the Kempen in Belgian Limburg, Zolder is a short drive across the border for plenty of Dutch fans. Its 4.010-kilometre lap squeezes fast straights, hard-braking chicanes and gentle climbs through the trees into just ten corners. Opened in 1963, it hosted the Grand Prix several times between 1973 and 1984; today it hums with touring cars, endurance racing and even winter cyclocross. Anyone who has stood among those trees with a flask of coffee will feel right at home.
