Elevation profile
The story
High above the Riviera, the hills behind Sanremo hide some of Italy's most demanding tarmac, and Langan is one of the classics. The stage opens with a tight ladder of hairpins above the hamlet of Perallo in the Argentina valley, climbing to cross Colle Langan at a little over 1,100 metres, where the road to Colla Melosa branches off. What follows is a long descent, rounded off by a last cluster of hairpins down to Madonna del Ponte below Buggio, near Pigna. Just over nineteen kilometres of narrow Ligurian road, with barely a moment's rest. For anyone who prefers the coast seen from the mountains.
