Elevation profile
The story
Some call it the most famous 23 kilometres in rallying, and few would argue. From La Bollène-Vésubie the tarmac climbs through a ladder of tight hairpins to the col at over 1,600 metres, then drops down the Bévéra side to Moulinet. For decades the stage was run at night, and the blaze of high-beam lights slicing through the dark earned it the nickname 'Night of the Long Knives'. Ice lurks in the shaded corners while the next bend is bone dry, and the crowds at the summit have watched it all since the early sixties. For the fan who keeps January free for the winter rally in the Alps.
