The story
Ecce Homo takes its name from a statue of Christ on the old Olomouc–Opava road above the Moravian town of Šternberk. Cars were timed on part of this road as early as 18 May 1905, and the first stand-alone hill climb followed in 1921. The course starts in town at about 300 m and climbs 7.8 km, through bends such as the Sojkova zatáčka and the Lipinský oblouk, to finish above the village of Lipina at 607 m. It is the longest hill-climb course in the Czech Republic and has been a round of the European championship since 1981. For the fan who likes history with their horsepower.
