The story
The party starts the afternoon before, when spectators fill the hillsides of the Serra de Fafe and boulders along the road carry the painted names of rally greats. From Ruivães on the edge of town, the 11.18-kilometre stage climbs on gravel past wind turbines to Confurco, where a double junction takes it left onto tarmac and straight back onto dirt. A hairpin, one more climb, then the famous jump on the final crest, with the finish just beyond. First used in 1984, Fafe closed the Portuguese round as its power stage in 2019, 2024 and 2026. For anyone who has heard that crowd roar.
