The story
Barely 6.7 kilometres long, yet anything but gentle. This Isle of Man stage leaves from the Sulby Claddagh, the riverside meadow at Sulby, turns onto Sulby Glen Road and climbs south up the narrow glen past Tholt-e-Will, the spot that gives the stage its name. Steep slopes hem in the road, and yet the stage record, set in 1999, is an average of 111 km/h. Like every stage of the island's rally, it runs on public roads closed by an Act of Tynwald. A poster for fans of short, sharp stages and for anyone who has explored the glens of the north.
