The story
The Fedaia belongs to the Marmolada. From Canazei the road climbs steadily through the forest until, at 2,057 metres, the Fedaia reservoir opens up with the Marmolada glacier right above it. Then the mood changes completely. Above Malga Ciapela, on the Veneto side, the road drops steeply into the valley; tackle it uphill from there and you will feel it in your legs or in your clutch. Further down it winds through Rocca Pietore to Caprile. The pass is open all year, weather permitting. For anyone who has stood beneath the Marmolada, or wants to take on that ramp once more.
