The story
The Gardena links two Ladin-speaking valleys, each with its own character. From Selva in Val Gardena you climb through open meadows until the north walls of the Sella group tower directly above you. At a little over 2,100 metres the view swings round to Alta Badia, and the road ribbons down to Corvara. There are about nineteen hairpins, none of them numbered: this pass is about rhythm rather than records. In Ladin it is called Ju de Frara. Open all year, it is one of the four passes that circle the Sella massif. For the study of anyone who has lost their heart to the Dolomites.
